RIVERTREE Film follows the journey of @hayleytalbot, adventurer & mother, and @danross_surf, Patagonia pro-surfer & elite athlete coach. Lifelong friends, they embark on a 498km paddle down the mighty Clarence River from the mountains to the sea.
Between their time paddling on the water, they pause to engage with the people who call her banks home. Along the way, they uncover the risky plans of the mining industry to dig up the hills behind these communities.
The film celebrates the mighty Clarence River (Biirrinba, Boorimbah). From her source high in the Great Dividing Range, winding her way to the sea over Bundjalung, Gumbaynggirr, and Yaegl traditional lands, this river adventure embodies community, connection, and kin.
This film serves as a powerful reminder of the intricate connections between our lives and the rivers that course through our lands. It’s not just a story on screen but a mirror reflecting our collective responsibility towards these life-giving waterways.
Don’t miss this opportunity to witness the journey of resilience, discovery, and advocacy on one of Australia’s most iconic rivers.
